This family photoshoot in the Marais had everything: charming courtyards, historic arcades, and a toddler who turned the streets of Paris into his own personal playground.
We started in the Place des Vosges, arguably the crown jewel of the Marais, and wrapped up in the dreamy courtyard of Hôtel de Sully. With a little one leading the way, it was the kind of session where real memories were made: joyful, curious, and completely unforced.
When you picture a Paris family session, you’re probably thinking of elegant architecture, charming streets, and green spaces where kids can run free. That’s precisely what the Marais delivers!
From cobblestone alleys to tucked-away gardens, this historic neighborhood strikes the perfect balance of beauty and breathing room. The Place des Vosges gave us those dreamy symmetrical lines and picturesque rows of trees, while Hôtel de Sully offered a secret garden feel, complete with climbing ivy and quiet alcoves.

Style tip: Wear shoes you can move in! The cobblestones are part of the Parisian charm, but your feet will sink into the Hotel de Sully garden pebbles.

A child-led session is exactly what it sounds like: we follow your little one’s pace, interests, and energy. There’s no rigid timeline or shot list of must-have poses. Instead, we create space for everyone’s real personality to shine through, be that through running, dancing, hiding behind benches, or discovering the magic of a spinning leaf.
Tips for a Successful Child-Led Session:
Once this little guy got comfortable, he ran with it, literally. Everywhere he looked, he found something worthy of his attention, from chasing pigeons to views through ornate gates. And by giving him time and space to be himself, I was able to capture some truly beautiful moments!

Our session began under the soft arches of the Place des Vosges, where the family snuggled close on a park bench before darting across the square for a quick game of chase. We paused to admire the details: shutters, fountains, flowerbeds, and let the little one lead us toward his next discovery.
From there, we wandered into the lesser-known courtyard of Hôtel de Sully. Tucked just behind the bustling Rue Saint-Antoine, it’s a spot many visitors miss, but one I love for its quiet elegance. The family shared sweet hugs in the dappled light, with ivy climbing in the background and laughter echoing softly through the square.
