The morning Benedict was supposed to propose to Uju in front of the Eiffel Tower, we woke to a very cloudy, rainy Paris. Normally I make sure to schedule proposals (especially in front of the Eiffel Tower) at first light as Paris gets more and more crowded as the day goes on. I try to be as flexible as possible, so I recommended we move the shoot as there was an 80% chance of rain. But Ben assured me he wanted to do it, even if there was rain!
I got to the Trocadero, my favorite view of the Eiffel Tower, and sure enough it was super dark and rainy. I took shelter under a kiosk until Ben and Uju arrived. And miraculously, the rain thinned out at the exact moment they walked up!
We had scheduled the proposal to take place during a “vacation shoot” so that Uju would be completely surprised! I would take a couple of shots to loosen them up before setting Ben and Uju into the perfect positions…
Uju’s Reaction
“To be honest I actually screamed yes before he even asked. As soon as I watched Ben get down on one knee, I literally blacked out.” – Uju
I definitely sensed the excitement and gave Uju and Ben some alone time to celebrate this big moment. But I didn’t want Uju to miss what precious words Ben had prepared, so I gave him ample opportunities to whisper his proposal in her ear…

A Perfect Eiffel Tower Proposal in Paris
With every click of the shutter, I was tingling. I just knew each picture would honor their beautiful relationship and capture the essence of who they are. Uju is such a shining star, and Ben loves her madly!
Paris is Uju’s favorite city, so it was the perfect place to propose. But proposing in front of the Eiffel Tower made the moment that much more special!
We laughed a lot, danced around the Eiffel Tower, and celebrated this phenomenal Paris proposal all the way to the bottom of the base of the Eiffel Tower. And even more miraculously, the rain started falling again just as I said my goodbyes! A perfect moment, indeed!
